Yuri Okina is Chairperson of the Japan Research Institute. She is also research director at Japan's National Institute for Research Advancement. She has published extensively on Japan's financial systems, most recent of which is the 'Financial Crisis and Prudential Policy' (Nihonkeizaishinbun Shuppansha, 2010). She is a member of various groups such as the Government Tax Commission and the Financial Services Agency Council on Financial Services. She has been an invited professor at Waseda University and Keio University. She earned her doctorate in economics at Kyoto University.
