Xunpeng Shi

Bio

Xunpeng Shi is Research Principal at the Australia-China Relations Institute and Professor of Energy and Environmental Economics at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and President of the International Society for Energy Transition Studies. Shi holds a diverse educational background, including a Master of Laws from the University of Dundee, a Master of Environmental and Resource Economics and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Australian National University. Shi has worked in the energy sector in roles spanning industry, government and research institutes in Australia, Brunei, China, Indonesia, Singapore, and an international organisation. Shi holds honorary positions at Nanjing University, Shanghai Univerity, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and the Center of Hubei Cooperative Innovation for Emissions Trading System. Shi has had advising roles with organisations like the ADB, the International Group of LNG Importers (GIIGNL), Global Gas Center (GGC), APEC Sustainable Energy Center (APSEC) and UN ESCAP.
