Dr. Wee Chian Koh is Economist at the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO).
Prior to joining AMRO, Dr. Koh was Senior Researcher and Head of Economics and Finance at the Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies in Brunei Darussalam, where his work involved surveillance of the Brunei economy and policy research on fiscal policy, economic diversification, productivity, unemployment, energy, transport, trade facilitation and SME development. He was appointed as academic member of the Brunei Macroeconomic Development Committee from 2021 to 2022.
Dr. Koh was also previously Economist at the World Bank in Washington, DC, where he worked on surveillance of commodity markets and analytical research on global recessions, debt crises, inflation, and informality.
Dr. Koh holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Australian National University and a M.Sc. in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
