Linus Hagstrom is a Professor of Political Science and Deputy Head of the Department of Political Science and Law at the Swedish Defence University. His research revolves around identity, power and international security, including the role of discourse, narrative and discipline. He is also interested in methods for constructing research puzzles and the question how to motivate research contributions. Empirically, he is focused on East Asian international politics, but also does research on great power politics and security policy involving Sweden. He has recently published articles in Life Writing, Alternatives, International Relations of the Asia-Pacific, European Journal of International Relations, Contemporary Security Policy, Social Science Japan Journal and International Studies Quarterly.
