Kearrin Sims

Bio

Kearrin Sims is a critical development scholar with training in international relations and sociology at James Cook University (JCU), Cairns. Sims is the Chair of JCU’s Research for Ethical Development Group. Sims is the program convenor of JCU’s Master of Global Development program. Sims primary research focus is on development within South East Asia, particularly in Laos. Sims’ work has been published across numerous mediums including peer-reviewed journals, books, magazine articles and on academic blogs. Sims holds a PhD in Development Economics and International Development from Western Sydney University.

The East Asia Forum office is based in Australia and EAF acknowledges the First Peoples of this land — in Canberra the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people — and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.
