John Hewson was a former leader of the Australian Liberal Party and the federal opposition. He is an economic and financial expert with experience in academia, business, government and media. He has worked as an economist for the Australian Treasury, the Reserve Bank of Australia and the International Monetary Fund. In February 2014 he joined the Australian National University as Professor and Chair of the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute.
