Bio

James D Kim is a Stanton Nuclear Security Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Security Studies Program and an incoming assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Washington. His research interests include the consequences of exposure to armed conflict, nuclear deterrence, diplomatic visits and alliances. His academic work has appeared in the Journal of Conflict Resolution, International Studies Quarterly, Social Science Quarterly, and Presidential Studies Quarterly. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Texas A&M University in 2023.
