Colette Mortreux

Bio

Colette Mortreux is a Lecturer in Human Geography at Monash University. Her research examines climate change adaptation and migration. She has held research fellowships at the University of Melbourne and at Exeter University focussing on adaptation in small island developing states, as well as the political economy of resettlement in Ghana, Bangladesh, and India. Mortreux has also spent several years conducting fieldwork in Australia as a senior research consultant at the Australian National University's Social Research Centre as well as exploring bushfire risk reduction for her PhD.

The East Asia Forum office is based in Australia and EAF acknowledges the First Peoples of this land — in Canberra the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people — and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.
