Calvin is a graduate student in the Department of Political Science at the University of British Columbia. He is also a fellow with the Institute of Asian Research where he works with the Centre for Southeast Asia Research (CSEAR) and the UBC Myanmar Initiative. Calvin's research focuses on state-society relations, authoritarian regimes and cultural politics in Southeast Asia.
