Dr Anthea McCarthy-Jones is Senior Lecturer in the School of Business at UNSW Canberra. Anthea holds a PhD in International Relations and has extensive fieldwork experience in Latin America. Her current research focusses on the role of ‘brokers’ in the organisational and operational structures of illicit networks and the threats these non-traditional actors pose to the state. She has published work on a range of issues including policy-making in developing nations, Australia’s neo-jihadist terror network and linkages between organised crime groups in Latin America, Asia and Australia.
