C. Peter Timmer


C. Peter Timmer is Thomas D. Cabot Emeritus Professor of Development Studies at Harvard University. Timmer has an extensive academic background — served as visiting professor at Stanford University's Center on Food Security and the Environment and held positions at Cornell University. At the University of California, San Diego, he was also the dean of the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies. Timmer played a pivotal role as a core advisor on the World Bank's World Development Report 2008, focusing on agriculture for development. Timmer's research spans pro-poor growth, the impact of the supermarket revolution in developing countries and the historical perspective on structural transformation in agricultural policy.
